Online Event: Germany and Poland--Still Partners in the EU and Transatlantic Community?

Warsaw and Berlin have played an integral role in shaping the EU’s internal policies and external relations. In recent years however, geopolitical relationships between EU member states, transatlantic allies, and neighboring countries have undergone substantial shifts. With the so-called “geopolitical commission” planning to boost the EU’s role on the world stage, Polish-German cooperation will be key. To discuss how these two neighbors and their bilateral relationship are shaping the EU’s direction in an evolving geopolitical climate, AJC Berlin and AJC Central Europe were pleased to welcome Radosław Sikorski and Roland Freudenstein. The panelists discussed a wide range of issues including military cooperation with NATO, relations to Russia and its Holocaust revisionism, and Polish leadership potential at an EU-level.
